Agincourt Cabernet Malbec
Wine
Yarra Yering Agincourt Cabernet Malbec is typically 80% Cabernet and 20% Malbec. Planted in 1990 the Agincourt Block is one of the most sheltered sites in the Yarra Yering vineyard.
The handpicked grapes are crushed and destemmed into open tea chest fermenters. The juice is hand plunged twice daily with some extended ageing on skins to soften the Cabernet tannins.
After basket pressing, malolactic fermentation takes place in two year old French oak Bordeaux shaped barrels. The wine matures for 24 months before release.
Deep crimson, Yarra Yering Agincourt Cabernet Malbec has a herbaceous edge, its tannins creating a beautifully balanced structure. Cellaring potential is five years.
